I’m Mai Shams El-Din, Journalism Senior at the American University in Cairo. I have been always passionate about writing as a tool to voice out the voices of the voiceless people
I do believe that media in general, and in the Arab World especially, is giving more attention to certain parties, social and economic groups to declare their concerns and interests, while leaving others with no chance to reach out.
I firmly believe that there are tremendous voices that deserve to be heard, and it is my dream to reach out for those voices. It is the voice of the peasant in his farm, one poor woman of the 7 millions living in slums in Egypt, and the government officer who have 5 kids and only 500 pounds to live. Those are the ones who should be heard, those are the ones that we should respect, because simply those are the ones who made EGYPT!!!!
Enjoy reading and my ears and heart are wide open for any comments, criticisms and discussions ….
